“Bum Rush The Stage” Three 6 Mafia To Perform At The Oscars

Jordon “Juicy J” Houston, Paul “DJ Paul” Beauregard and Darnell “Crunchy Black” Carlton of the Memphis collective Three 6 Mafia have been tapped as performers at the 78th Academy Awards.
They (Three 6 Mafia) have been nominated in the category of Best Achievement In Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song) for writing the music and lyrics for their track “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” from the “Hustle & Flow” movie soundtrack.
In the history of the Oscars, no rap group has ever performed during the telecast.
The ABC network will be covering the Oscars on their presentation date, Sunday March 5.
Three 6 Mafia have been resurgent of late, their last album “Most Known Unknowns” released last year has seen strong sales, partly due to the single “Stay Fly” which attained strong chart position in the U.S and U.K.
