Kanye and 50 Will Both Release Albums on the Same Day: Semptember 11

Kanye West and 50 Cent plan to go head to head on September 11th as they gear up to release their most anticipate works to date: Graduation and Curtis respectively. 50 has already warned ‘Ye to move his dates on Funkmaster on Hot97 (Listen here) but Def Jam slated the 11th for Kanye’s Release and say its the date untill further notice after pushing it back from August 21st. The long awaited Curtis was also push back from June25th to Sept4th to Sept11th…50 says he’s not moving for anyone telling Flex “I’m not moving under any circumstances.”

Kanye hasn’t commented yet but he;s no stranger to 50’s threats and disses after the G-Unit general classified Kanye as “safe” telling Hot97 in an interview ‘06 that (for parents of kids listening to rap)“It’s better for your kid to wanna dress weird and just have a whole other vibe.” As opposed to…what Gangsta?

Its almost Graduation …but before we cop it ‘Ye has decided to deal with a recent diss from Roc-A-Fella legend Beanie Sigal.

Kanye addressed beans’ diss on Hot 97 with Angie Martinez, which was aimed at the Louis-Vuitton-Don and Super Producer Pharrel Williams. Beans, aka the braod street bully, takes shots at the duo in the video posted above, insinuating that they are gay and that they couldn’t make fashion statements like they have if they were straight and from the ‘hood.

Zukhan Bey, the man responsible for “We Fly High” and numerous other hit singles! Zukhan Bey came out of the Philly International School that spawned the likes of The Fugees and The Roots. Originally starting as a drum programmer for Scott Storch, Zukhan has found his way to a variety of artists, including Vivian Green, The Roots, and Jim Jones, for whom he wrote the current single “We Fly High” as well as the previous #1 New York single “Baby Girl” off Jim Jones’ last record. Jay-Z comes out of retirement with a number 1 and 600,000 of “Kingdom Come” moved

After just completing his worldwide Roc Da Block tour and launching a world water charity campaign, Jay-Z has hit the Billboard 200 at number one with “Kingdom Come” selling 680,000 albums in the U.S. in its first week.

This was Jay-Z’s biggest selling debut album ever and means he’s third equal with The Rolling Stones for most number one albums (nine). Just behind the Beatles with 19 and Elvis Presley with 10.

Power 105.1 Get A Clue and Flip The Switch

DJ Clue has the Power. The 105 Power to be exact. The Platinum selling Roc-a-fella signed Clue, responsible for “The Professional” Mixtape Series will be hosting the 6-10pm weeknight slot in direct competition with Hot 97’s Funk Master Flex. Clue began at Hot97 in the early 90’s establishing his career with the Roc/Def Jam.
That should keep the airwaves flowin. Clue bring the Mixtape DJ credibility from the streets as well as many well established links to well known HipHop Artists such as Fabolous, Mariah Carey, Jadakiss, Snoop Dogg, Jay-z, MOP and Mobb Deep just to name a few. Dj Clue is also the CEO of Desert Storm Records which is home to F-A-B-O as well as Joe Budden.

Many believe that this move could elevate the DJ’s Career further by heating up the airwave competition. His new “Professional” Album is due in June and has been long awaited. The New Yorker has recieved much fame from his hosting duties on MTV’s Direct Effect. Clue was impressed with Nate Bell of Power 105 stating “[Nate] knows that I try to be the voice of the streets” Word is that Bell is extatic that Clue’s joinin’ his team, and feels that it will definately take the station to an higher standard.

Jay-Z delivered “The Black Album.” Now there’s word that Ralph Lauren is trying to target Hova to give you “The Black Collection”.

Ralph Lauren, the man who brought the polo phenomenon, is said to be tired of watching Tommy Hilfiger and Sean Combs pile up dead Presidents by selling clothes to the HipHop Market and Urban youth.

Word on the Street is that insiders say, Lauren has made back-channel offers to Jigga to lend his name to a line of men’s wear and home furnishings.

Lauren’s rep insists that there’s been no direct contact between the two former Brooklynites. But a source tells us Lauren is attracted to Jay’s new fondness for tailored suits. (The invitation to his L.A. party the other night told guests to dress “grown and sexy.”)

Peeps close to Jigga say that he hasn’t decided whether a deal with Lauren would compromise his street cred.

In a recent issue for men’s magazine Playboy Kanye West has revealed that he will be producing for Jay-Z’s new album.

For those in the know this will come as no surprise, whilst getting his CEO game on he has been quietly conceiving ideas for a new album of his own.

Personally i would expect all of the usual suspects to be present including, Dr Dre, Just Blaze and the aforementioned Kanye West.

Whilst being “retired” he has constantly rejected any talk of a comeback, yet he has released joint projects with Linkin Park, R Kelly and has featured on tracks with Teairra Mari, T.I, Young Jeezy and Mariah Carey.

My tip is that he will resurface under the “Shaun Carter” moniker.

There is talk of the album coming out in June this year.

Kanye West Given The Task Of Re-Imagining The Mission Impossible Theme

Kanye West has just been announced as the artist to rework the original Mission Impossible theme for its 3rd outing.

Kanye follows U2 and Limp Bizkit who have previously recorded the theme song.

The latest movie in the franchise is set to feature Tom Cruise who reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, Ving Rhames who has also starred in the previous versions of the film, Laurence Fishburne of Matrix fame, Phillip Seymour Hoffman who recently has been nominated for an Oscar for his role in “Capote” and others.

This is yet another fillip for Kanye, after already this year being nominated for 8 Grammy Awards and continuing to receive widespread critical and commercial success after the release of his latest effort “Late Registration” last year.

Freeway’s New Album “Free At Last” Taking Shape With Help From The G-Unit General 50 Cent

Philadelphia native Freeway has been working on his new album “Free At Last”.

Interestingly the album will be co-executively produced by Jay-Z and 50 Cent.

On some websites there has been speculation that Freeway will become a new member of G-Unit.

At this stage their union is based on a long standing friendship between the two and there has been no official confirmation of his signing to G-Unit records.
