Snoop and his Crews Not So Fly : Arrested at Heathrow Airport
An altercation arose two days ago when British Airways denied Snoop and his crew entry to their 1st Class Airport Lounge in Terminal 1. After being told that they wouldn’t be allowed in they were then bar from their flight. The Doggfather and his 30 strong crew protested, leading to a scuffle with Police/security with seven police officers injured and an arrests for him and his entourage.
The ruckus escalted when the crew started to drop some whiskey bottles at a near by duty free store when arguing with staff. Scotland Yard reports that the group was then ushered away when a fight broke out between the crew and police. Witnesses told London’s Daily Mirror Newspaper ” It was absolute chaos…It looked like it was on the brink of turning really nasty”.
Scotland Yard, “officers then attempted to direct the group to baggage reclaim. A number of the group became abusive and pushed officers.” Snoop and six of his followers were arrested on charges of violent disorder and affray and held at two west London police stations. Consequently they missed thier connecting flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, for a massive concert called the People’s Celebration featuring a large line up of other acts as part of South Africa’s Freedom Day Celebrations.
A British Airways spokesperson has now banned them from travelling with them in th foreseeable future, “given the nature of the disturbance.”
Snoop has since been released from custody on bail without charge and will have to reappear to the West London Police station. The 34-year-old is due to play two more dates in South Africa and then in Durban on Saturday, 29 April, follwing this in Cape Town on Monday, 1st May. But his publicist stated, “it was unclear whether those shows would go ahead.”
