Michael Richards racist tirade has caused many to rethink the use of the N-Word
Michael Richards has caused some people to rethink their use of the N-Word.
As I sit here now listening to Crack Music while writing this post… well you already know the N-Word is pretty much intrinsic to Hip-Hop.
Just after the Michael Richards thing there happened to be a rerun of Oprah’s Crash cast interview.
Don Cheadle, Terence Howard and Chris Bridges sat there trying to justify the use of the N-Word as a term of endearment amongst their friends.
When you think about it, its a bizarre thing that a word which was used historically in conjunction with hate, torture, murder, kidnap and rape should be used to address your friends.
Its hard to think of a parallel.
And of course Oprah had no time for this kind of idea, which is smart because words are powerful things. This word undoubtably messes with people on some kind of sub conscious level.
